THE TUFFY STORY
History
Tuffy was formed out of a desire to innovate the pressure washer industry with industrial battery powered technology to tackle an emerging market. Tuffy Cleaning systems wanted to meet the demands of new requirements for emissions, innovations in pressure washer function for the user including lower noise, operating costs and maintenance. In January of 2022 the idea was first discussed, by February of 2022 the name was chosen, proof of concept was completed in May of 2022, and a working prototype was finished in September of the same year.
The Name
Some of the founders had a grandfather nicknamed “Tuffy” which was a name he earned as a child for not crying when others would have. Nearly a year before the idea for a new product emerged, we had already formed Tuffy Leasing Systems for a business restructuring that never came to fruition. When it was time to name the company that would sell our new pressure washers, the name Tuffy felt like a perfect fit
Vision
Combined with the convenience of an existing legal entity, we adopted the DBA Tuffy Cleaning Systems. With the logo designed, work began in earnest to develop an innovative, battery-powered pressure washer built to be as tough and leak-free as its namesake.
